Grand Theft Auto V: Expanded & Enhanced finally has a release date, with Rockstar Games confirming the next-generation version of GTA5 will release on March 15th.
This will be the third generation of consoles that Rockstar’s hit game has launched on, and as reported during the recent Take-Two earnings call, the popularity of GTA5 continues to grow, with 5 million copies of the game selling in the last quarter.
Along with a release date, Rockstar has confirmed a few key features coming to the Expanded & Enhanced version of GTA5 and standalone version of GTA Online, with players benefitting from faster loading times, 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, ray-tracing, HDR and texture & draw distance enhancements.
Rockstar has also confirmed that players wanting to continue their journey from older consoles to the next generation will be able to transfer their GTA5 and GTA Online progress in a one-time migration available at launch.
There are also several improvements coming to GTA Online, with players able to skip the GTA5 prologue and head straight Online into an all-new GTA Online tutorial.
The Career Builder is also available for new GTA Online players, with instant access being granted to one of the four major businesses available in the online mode (below) along with some cash to get you started on your journey.
- Biker / MC Club
- CEO / Executive
- Gunrunner
- Nightclub Owner
Returning players can also access the Career Builder if they want to restart their characters.
Those playing Grand Theft Auto V: Expanded & Enhanced on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X will also gain access to Hao’s Special Works auto shop, which can be found in the LS Car Meet. Hao’s auto shop will allow players to upgrade select vehicles (5 new and 5 existing) to take advantage of the power of the new consoles.
